I can't seem to get the Tags to show up in my layout. When I go to customize, the sidebar option is not there ? is it called Component now ?
So I've been using my layout in Firefox without a hitch. I look at it using my Internet Explorer 6 browser today to find it has a MASSIVE gap in the main content part (obviously only when viewed in IE...). I've also discovered that it's happening in a layout I made for a friend, as well. Argh!
Anyone have any idea of how to fix this?
I've skipped back several pages looking at the "lj & browser issues" tag, and sure, there's heaps of people asking this question... But most of their solutions aren't things that will help me (at least the ones I've seen).
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

And my stylesheet should be viewable if you view the source of my journal.
Thanks in advance. :)

Err, me again. Sorry about that.
I'm having a little issue with my comments. If the font is too large, the text overlaps with the next lines, hence making it unreadable. Here's a preview. (The preview's at the very end)
I tried adding line-height: 125% under .reply and body but I guess that's not what I'm supposed to do because nothing changed.
Any ideas?
Thank you for all your help in the past!

When using the customization wizard, is there any way I can see what my changes will look like BEFORE I publish? I hate making changes active in order to see them because if anyone happened to stop by my journal while I'm in the middle of redesign, it'll look pretty messed up. :[
Thanks for your help!
Thanks for your help!
I recently used these comment edits (connected comments, force collapse) to customize my entry pages, and I noticed that for forced collapse threads, the "expand" option disappears. Is there any way to make it appear again?
( cut for examples of what i mean; )
I tried looking through the tags and memories and existing entries, but it's either not there or I missed it entirely. Thanks in advance for whatever help comes my way. :)

I've had this code in my layer for years now.. one day it just stopped working. The code is still there but the components are showing up. I compared with the code on the tutorials and it pretty much looks the same. help?

Entries are escaping the entry holder on my journal's comment reply page? I just noticed when I checked email and clicked the reply link in the email to open the page and reply to the comment.

A serving plate, a salad bowl, and a.... huh? That's not what they meant? Ohhh.
Macaroni and cheese.
Mashed potatoes.
Special-K with whole, lactose-free milk.
... I can still have coffee, right? Because that's not a "dish" in the sense they mean.

Anybody know how I can customize the quote function? here's a preview of what I'm talking about. :)
Thank you!
Thank you!
Since livejournal decided to surprise us with their automatic comment thing on comments' pages, there's this black border around the whole thing when you post a comment on anyone's journal (most likely a paid account or plus, not basic) and I'd like to get rid of that border or AT LEAST change its color if it's not much trouble. :D
If you don't get what I'm describing I will provide a screencap if it's needed. Thanks in advance!
ALSO! I'd like to get my hands on the codes to make the comments, edit, add comment, add to memories links replaced by images (not the skiplinks ones, the ones from the comments part of all entries).

Looking for all the square corner code to remove in order to make an all rounded corner layout?
I have a problem with my subject. I want them both with my date to float on the left of my entries. It's working fine with my date but my subject is going all weird. Along with the first line of my entry.

Hi, there. I've been looking through the tags/Memories/tutorials for this but cannot find it so thought I would make a post. Sorry if I missed it. But I'd love some help.
I put in the "rounded corners" code for Components but I'm getting a component box at the top, the page title component or something? How do I remove that, please?

I changed layouts today using a custom theme layer, but I'm having a few minor issues I can't seem to correct. Any help is appreciated. I'm sure it's something simple.
1) Userpics on my friends page are the full length of an entry. I want them to appear on the right, exactly how they are on my main page. Also, the username text below the icon, I want it separate and not within the lighter colored background of the icon, as it's messing up the padding. Solved
2) There is a gap of space between the footer and the last entry that should not be there. Solved
3) My custom security lock image is not showing up. It stopped appearing a couple weeks ago for no reason. I've tried changing the image, but still only the default lock will show. - Solved.
ETA: Removed links to theme layer.

Is there a way to make the back and forward skiplink text different depending on the page a person is viewing? Like Recent Page (I have "remember who I used to be" for back and "look forward to who I become" for forward) vs. Friends Page (I want "remember who they used to be" for back and "look forward to who they become" for forward on this page) vs. Entry Page (where I don't want that line appearing at all). Note I want this in my header section and I kept trying to put
Theme layer
var string range = "most recent entries";
var string sep;
if ($.nav.skip > 0)
{
$range = "$.nav.skip entries back";
}in the Page::print function and having viewing $range instead of viewing entries in the div id called last.Theme layer
lol, I had more questions than I thought I had. I'm new at Component. (:
Layer: Click
1. I thought it was impossible with Component, but I just found that this community's layout does what I want my journal to do.
When I click on 'reply', I have to wait for my reply page to load before I can actually write my comment. What I wanted was that, when you click on said 'reply' link, the reply form will pop out automatically, just like when you click 'leave a comment' on a Flexible Squares layout.
2. On an unrelated though slightly similar note... okay, I don't know how to explain it properly, so here's the scenario: I have a poll. You know with polls, there is 'view answers', and when you click that link it will say 'loading' and then the answers pop out automatically. With my Component layout, just like with the comments, it takes me to a separate page instead of just appearing automatically on the same page. How can I fix this problem?
3. I notice my layout squishes large images so they won't go over the page. I do appreciate it does that, but the graphics come out ugly and pixelated instead. Is there an alternative for this? Like, say, a scrollbar would be preferrable. Something like that.
4. I am now using the code provided in this tutorial on customizing entries on reply pages. It says there:### If you're replying to a comment, you need to set some options below to make it look like an entry. ###
What options do I need to set? It doesn't say so in the code (or maybe I am just too blind?).

I've been working on making me a new layout (and actually thought I wouldn't need to ask for help! LOL). Anyway...
1) Is there a way to customize the font size and line height of the metadata with CSS? I've tried many different things, including this code (see below), but nothing is working as well as expected.
( code )
2) Is there a way to fix the empty padding-ish space on specific extra components (specifically my random quote component - I think it only shows up in Firefox)?
( example image )
3) Lastly, Is there anyway to spcifically adjust/customize the appearance of the linklist via CSS (hover and such) without effecting other portions of the layout as well? I assumed not, but thought I should ask just in case.

I was wondering if it is possible to use tiny icons for the linkbar (Adding a comment, Edit Entry, Tags etc.). If it is possible, how do I go about doing it.
Thank you if you can help me.

For some reason, in the Comment pages, my Edit Comment, Delete Comment, Freeze, etc. links/icons are right next to my username. I've looked over my code and even browsed through other's visible layers to see what I've done wrong, but I still can't figure it out :(
I've included an image below the cut to make my point clearer:
